Devonshire Jug
One of just a few pots that I had the opportunity to include in a firing with Sam Taylor out at Dogbar Pottery in Westhampton, MA back in April. Sam fires his catenary arch cross-draft wood kiln using off-cut slabs in just about 16 hours. At the peak of the firing we stoked in around 16lbs of salt, and gave a healthy spray of soda ash for good measure. This firing was so much fun to participate in, and the pots came out great!
A classic shape from the countryside of North Devon. Adorned with dandelion motif and glazed in chun. Love the way this jug feels and pours. Great addition to the table.
